Walnut Ridge Llamas

Welcome to Walnut Ridge Llamas!

Thanks for visiting our page on Lama Journal. For those who know us, please leave us a comment to say hello. Everyone else, please leave a comment and let us know who you are. We enjoy meeting new people and welcome anyone that would like to visit our farm in Chuckey, Tennessee.

Our 19 acre farm is located in the hills of East Tennessee with the Smoky Mountains in full view. We have been raising llamas since 1998 and currently have about 60 suri and silky llamas in our herd. We usually have 5-10 llamas for sale at any time. Our prices are very reasonable and we give discounts for multiple purchases. You can read more about us and our farm at www.QualityLlamas.com

Fairway Friends

Two years ago we were showing llamas at the North Carolina Mountain State Fair Llama Show. Mark English and his family came to our stalls several times viewing our llamas and talking about possibly purchasing some. He wanted to train them to become “llama golf caddies.” Mark, Bonita, and his son Eric visited our farm a few weeks later. They purchased 6 young male llamas which we delivered to…

Jerry, Carolyn,

Thank you for your comments about my HP. I started breeding llamas about 12 years ago, but every time I vist a HP in the U.S. I see how far behind we are in Germany, not only in breeding but also in the nowledge about these fantastic animals. Please excuse my spelling, my Englisch is very rusted.

best regards,

Sonya

Thank you, Jerry & Carolyn, for your inviting words. :) I'm not quite certain on how many llamas or alpacas there are at the moment in Germany. A few thousand? But not too many. We also have more alpacas than llamas here. People think they are cuter, and there is the wool of course. I personally have both, but only breed llamas. I find them far more useful for trekking. I'm also one of the very few people still breeding pure Classics. Unfortunately small wooly llamas are trendy at the moment here and tall Classics seem to become extinct soon. Which is a shame. They are far easier to groom. ;)

The St. Clairs are indeed nice people.  We also bought a black silky from Shangrila in Virginia.  They are neat folks, too!  I have visited your website on many occasions during the last year and have enjoyed it very much.  Have a wonderful Christmas!  Ann at Tyfton Acres

Thanks so much for your kind welcome.  We are relatively new at llama farming, have only had our girls for a year.  We purchased a herdsire from Elevenses last spring but we lost him in September to some awful infection.  We spent weeks worrying about the others, afraid that they would get sick with whatever killed Clean Sweep.  We are waiting for a new male to be delivered from Carolina Minis any day now.  Ann at Tyfton Acres

Hey,
Thanks so much for being my friend. LOL
I look forward to seeing you at shows this year! There are no better shows than those in the south!! And southern people ALWAYS have fun at their shows.
Also, thanks for doing this for the lama community. This is a great thing. See you soon.

Debbie,
The combination between him and Renaissance was always fantastic. I bet Sterling is SILVER!! We own MGF Renaissance's full sister, MGF Ice Crystals. Both ofthose girls have the Richochet lines which are awesome. Hope to see you at a show or sale in the near future. We put on the Northeast Tennessee Llama Show on Memorial Day weekend. You should come down and show if you get a chance. Jerry

Hello! It is good to hear from you. Silver Peru is doing well....he is such a great llama. His babies are still AMAZING. Most of his babies that I have seen have that great disposition and usually have incredible fiber like him. If you are ever in the area you will have to stop by and see him and his son Sterling Silver. Sterling is a Silver Peru son out of MGF Renaissance and we have no doubt that he will be able to take up where dad leaves off someday. We hope that all is well with you guys...Debbie

Hi Carolyn and Jerry,
We are not consigning this year :-(
I will miss not see you both and we will miss not having our booth next to your booth. Maybe at the last moment we will be able to make it and just drive down.
Hope to see you!
So...who are you bringing this year to clean up?!
