Make Lama Journal Your Online Home

Why Lama Journal?

One of the biggest challenges for a new or existing alpaca or llama farm is networking. Getting to meet new people often requires expensive traveling to shows, organization meetings, county fairs, or even auctions. With today's technology at your finger tips, you can now come to a central location online and meet like minded people with similar interests.

Welcome to Lama Journal. With the ability to share photos, post videos, blog, develop new friendships, keep up-to-date with events, and the list goes on...you may find yourself on Lama Journal dot com during late hours of the night. This is quite normal at first, so do not worry. A word of advice...pace yourself and have fun.

Share your new photo galleries with your friends and encourage them to join the fun as well. Membership is FREE for everyone that shares a common interest with the Lama Journal community.

Organizing Your Slideshow With An Album

COMMON QUESTION: Is it possible to organize the photo slideshow like the photo album (so that the photos appear in a certain order)?

ANSWER: Yes, it is.

Actually the main purpose of creating an album of photos is so that you can organize your photos into a certain order for viewing purposes. The neat thing about this is, you can reuse photos in multiple albums. For example: Even though I have an album named "XYZ Alpaca", and that album has all of that animal's photo… Continue

How to Clear Your Browser Memory Cache

Noticed that the website has not updated after a new blog posting or profile update? It may be necessary to clear your browser's memory cache. Think of it as giving your browser a lobotomy and then sending it back to school. IF you do not do this, all it "remembers" is what was on the page "BEFORE" you installed the new code, and it never learns anything about the NEW widget you just installed.

By Default, Microsoft's… Continue

Social Network Marketing 101

Marketing is one of the most important aspects to the survival of your business website. Unfortunately, this can get very expensive when you begin running print, television, radio, or even online ads for promotion. In the early 1990's, when the internet was still in it's infancy, trading web links with other related websites was the free and effective way of marketing yourself online. This technique is still very effective and widely used, but has recently become second to a new type of marketin… Continue

Hey Steven,
I thought I would tell you, I used homestead.com to create my website. It was pretty easy to use and not too expensive. For $6.99 a month, I can have 5 pages with my own .com address.

With my farm name, visiting my brother in Alaska was awesome. I got to see moose everywhere. But, hitting one would not be much fun. When I judged in Maine, I had to stop and take a picture of the road sign "Slow for moose because moose kill".
On another topic, since you are so good with this web design thing, do you know of an easy web design software. I can't afford a webmaster and I need to put together a website for my farm. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Steven,
This is awesome. You've done a great job with all this. Thanks so much.
BTW, how do you like Alaska? My brother was stationed in FairBanks and now lives in Wasilla.

I'd love to go packing in Alaska--my husband and I were actually planning on taking a small boat cruise through Glacier bay this summer, but we waited too long to book it. I'm actually working on a llama rental directory that should be up in March to help people like me lease llamas--perhaps the Eagle River people will list their llamas on it. :-)

Thanks, Steven ~ we are really happy to have him. Loved him since he was a baby and after seeing what he is producing we just wanted him here. We have 4 girls bred to him that are all due starting in September so it is very exciting.

Steve. Thanks so much. Yours are great as well. I have never participated in my space or face book. Our kids all do of course. I did not feel it was something I needed to do, especially at my age. I enjoy this site so much, thanks for starting it. I can share and chat with people who have the same interests as we have. It is a great way to stay in touch with old friends, new friends. Hope I haven't share too many of my photos. I have never had a place to share them with anyone except family and friends who I make look at them. We were in Australia for a month this last Nov. I might share those as well. Hope you had a good time and success at Celebrity, I did not go this year, I did not want to leave Grandpa for his 96th Birthday. Thanks again.
