Hi I’m Tracy Ames, I’ve been married to my husband Randy for 24 years. We’ve had llamas for 10 years and have actively showed them all the 10 years, what a lot of fun it has been. I’ve met some great llama friends along the way, many I see here. I also recognize a lot of names from across the country and hope to get to know you as well.
My interest in llamas has never been breeding, I am not a breeder so my focus has always been on training, showing and simply having as much fun doing as many different things that we (my husband Randy) and I can with our llamas. I love to look for the next great male llama (YES I love my boys) that I can bring up through the classes in Halter and Performance and eventually train to drive. I then usually move him on to a wonderful new family that values all the time and training I have put into him and look for the next great find to start over with. This has helped me to keep my numbers down so I’m not overwhelmed with training thus everyone gets all the training. Currently we have 3 llamas, yikes! How do I do it? how do I resist the potato chip urges that llama ownership has a taste for?
In 2008 we moved from Central Oregon where we lived for 10 years to Southern Colorado for a short time. We now live in Southern Illinois. All of my previous shows were in the NW so I enjoyed showing in Colorado and now Illinois and the surrounding states. Its always fun to meet new llama folks at new shows, some I even knew from either showing under them or meeting at Nationals.
Hope we have a great 2010, check out my website too.
How are you and Randy doing? I miss seeing you guys in Central Oregon. Hope all is well with you and your llamas. I put some pictures of Jo Jo and Kaza on my page, check it out. Terri
