We've just had a cria born earlier than we thought possible. He seems healthy, fully developed, and feeds well. Last year his mother gave birth to her first cria on 8th July, we re-mated her on 10th August and again on 13th August. We had estimated…

Profile Information

About Me:
We have 16 llamas at Old King Street Farm - 5 trekking geldings aged 5 and 6; 5 breeding females aged 4 and 5; 3 cria born during 2008, our first year of llama breeding; 1 male cria born on 2nd July 2009, 1 female cria born on 28th July 2009 and 1 stud male.
My wife and I attend occasional shows, and we took 2 young males and 2 geldings to the North Somerset Show on 4th May 2009, where the animals were awarded three first places and Best in Show, but principally we host llama trekking from the farm through the countryside of Wales and Herefordshire. Guests take a vacation in our holiday cottages and are free to spend time with the herd. If you are planning a visit to the U.K. this year give us a call.
We attended the British Llama Society annual show at the Royal County of Berkshire Newbury Showground this 19th and 20th September and were pleased to have our llamas placed first and second in the Gelding class.
