Profile Information

About Me:
I have been raising and breeding llamas since November 1999. I maintain a small herd of beautiful llamas for show, breeding, and fiber production. I breed large, colorful, healthy llamas with straight conformation, fine fiber, and sweet personalities. I offer show, pet, and breeding quality llamas for sale at all times, as well as outside breedings to an ALSA Halter Champion silky paint male. I take pride in the personalities and training of the llamas that I offer for sale. I also have fiber products from our llamas, alpacas, and angora rabbits for sale, including raw fiber, roving, yarn, and finished products. I am active in the show community, and enjoy showing others how wonderful llamas are! Visitors are always welcome to see the farm and meet the animals.

"You shouldn't ground break your Llama at such a young age. At least that is whay I am told. I ground broke my female at two, but it isn't a good idea. It is like teaching a very young child to play baseball. Pysically they can do it, but…"

Hello! Your name looked familiar so I checked my e-mails and sure enough, you've sent me an e-mail introducing yourself and I failed to reply. I apologize for that, as I'm usually really good about responding. I was poking around on LLama Seeker trying to find out all I can to prepare for my new adventure! I'm looking for any information, farms and shows. I haven't really decided what direction I'm going with Llama ownership but I do enjoy these creatures and can't wait for this experience to begin! I'm getting a little nervous and worrying about many things that seem to be a non-issue for experienced owners (e.g. poisonous plants, weeds, trees, handling, feeding, etc.)!

I would like to ask you a question, as I have been asking just about everyone that I talk with....how far out have you found on the registry do most folks like to go before seeing any duplication of ancestors? We have parents as #1, grand-parents #2, great-grand parents#3, great-great grandparents as #4, etc. I am just about certain folks do not go all the way on those that get into the 6,7,8, and 9 listings. I just want to know so I don't find myself with a "taboo" animal that is considered "line-bred".

Hi Emaly, I actually just finished registering with the registry yesterday and spent my first visit on there printing off all of my girls ancestors - wow, some go back a long, long way. I will hop on there again and pull his to see if he might just be compatible with a few! Will let you know what I find!

Hi Emily,

I was just touching base with our llama "neighbors" - as I always like to know who all is around my area - and yes, I have your herdsire eartagged, and was going to be contacting you pretty quickly, as I do believe I am going to bring a girl up for a drive-by to him. Talk soon!

Have a gret day!

Hi Emaly,
When does show season start for llamas? Our first show here is the Michigan breeders show in May... that is for alpacas btw. I am beginning weaning of my 2 young girls so they will be ready for the show. Right now ist sad in the barn... the babies are crying :(
I hate weaning time... and I know it doesnt last , but it's still sad for now.... am also starting halter training with them this week. It should be fun to see how they do.... When the weather gets nicer, I will st up the obstacle course for them to work in and around.
have a good one :)
