Obstacles ... found one that I had forgotten about ... the hanging hula hoop. We have a large square frame that has a suspended hula hoop ring in the middle that is supported on the corners. The square sets on "t frame" legs for support and we add w…

Leann, you might check with Donna Moore about a future clinic. She did one for us when we were first getting started in our county. She has a website, timberlanellamas.com I'm not sure how far she would be from you, she is east of Columbus OH, somew…

Hello, Fair times are coming up too quickly. We are practicing with our farm kids and doing workshops for our entire County program which is still small (about 23) . We are hoping to have a seminar for the kids on showmanship and performance classes…

Sounds like you cover the basics as do our crew. Couple of things pop to mind that are maybe different ... we set up a "tent site" for our packing, we have a teepee, a fake fire, a gorilla in a chair and the kids have to back through the site (the g…

Profile Information

About Me:
Our farm is about 20 miles south of Columbus, Ohio. We currently have 18 llamas on our farm with the majority of them being rescues. I work with the rescues to rehabilitate the animals and match them up with 4H kids who want to "try a llama" on our farm lease program. I lease the llamas by way of farm chores and the kids get the opportunity to learn about how wonderful the llamas and alpacas are. Once the kids have completed a lease agreement and they have shown me that they are ready to be a llama/alpaca owner ... I give them the animal they have been working with. A win win situation for all!! I've made lots of lifetime friends working with the kids, and the llamas and alpacas have forever wonderful homes. You couldn't ask for more!!

We are especially interested in the Cambridge area or lower. Our goal is to be an easy find off of a major highway and since Cambridge is right where 70 and 77 cross seems like an ideal location for farm access. Plus we want to be near Columbus for obvious reasons related to alpacas. I can't wait to move to Ohio. You know when you go on vacation and after the week is up you feel like that was nice now I want to go home! When we visit Ohio it is very painful to leave! We just feel so relaxed and at home there! The people are so nice! Not that New Enlganders aren't nice! But, just a totally different mind set there! A slower pace. Plus the fact that Christianity is a common thread everywhere you go! Where I live if you say, God Bless you to someone they say I didn't sneeze! Here they say, Do you go to church? In Ohio they say,"Where do you go to Church?" Sorry don't know why I am preaching to the choir. Just can't wait to be a Buckeye!

How's the weather in Ohio? Do you have any big shows coming up in your neck of the woods? I wish you the best of luck!
