New GALA Newsletter editor looking for GALA members

Hi, all--I'm taking over the editing of the GALA newsletter after the February issue, and I'd really love to have people send me little blurbs about what they're doing with their animals--it doesn't have to be a serious report, and it doesn't have to be long--in fact, under 500 words is ideal. I'd also like to start gathering blurbs about what the members do when they're NOT doing llama or alpaca things--interesting jobs, interesting hobbies, etc. Also, photos of all thses things are welcome,…See More

Alexa,

I am wondering if you are referring to my Open Barn? I am having my Open Barn May 22-23 this year. Have had several people here to buy before the Open Barn which tends to happen but I am expecting 6 cria this year. Am excited about last falls crew. Just had a good show in VA. Lucas took 1st again which was great. it was a tough class and my little girl (not so little) first time out took 4th in Futurity against some 24 month olds and 4th in her halter class, BHLF Effervescent but most exciting was my little girl, Bodacious. she did fantastic in the performance class but I screwed up in both classes. Nuts. oh well. the other thing you might be referring to is the GALA conference in Harrisburg in Nov. it is going to be fantastic. you HAVE to be there. talk later or call . hope you can come visit.

Hey if you like hiking, come to Anchorage Alaska. There are tons of places to hike here and llamas are a perfect fit. If you do not want to transfer your llamas, you could contact a local farm in Eagle River and inquire about renting them for the day. Just an idea.

Hi Alexa,

I'm a hiker at heart and used to pack string with 3 llamas. The Sopris packs and equipment are high quality and the best you can buy!! Customer service has been excellent throughout the years. The Sopris saddles are great for decorating too in the local parades. I'm still using my first llama and saddle purchased over 10 years ago.

Hi Alexa,
I know your Dad ~ bought my baby llama jackets from him which are the best. I will check out your new website.
