If you all can help, from your farms and sometimes on the road, I will produce two national tv series for us, for alpacas and llamas, and include many farms and animals. I have the criteria, tested the markets, and these shows are relatively inexpensive to produce over the year, with very high industry impact. I know what works where and have made connections with network program directors who gave me a "go ahead" to start production. I need help in many areas...and would like to begin with under twenty farms nationwide, highlighting them first. There is much involved, but easily managed. For Lorraine Loperfido and I, we are seeking money for her brain damaged son's survival and opportunities with U of Miami's experimental deep brain stimulation program, and keep our Alpaca Angels of The Highlands going.

I am currently working round the clock on the association website. I need all of your inputon what you would like to have in the members area? Also, what would you like in the community area? We already have the ability ti list your alpacas for sale and a ranch profile and locator. An events calendar?

The new association name will be High Plains Alpaca Association. HIPA for short. "Only HIP alpacas join HIPA"

Also, I need volunteers for the show I am trying to put together and for all Committees, membership, advertising & marketing, etc. Please email me with any and all questions and your interest in volunteering, etc. The show will be held in Amarillo, TX at the Bill Cody Arena in 2010. Any ideas on a date we should shoot for?

I will be forming the non-profit corporation in January 2009 and hope to launch the website by February 2009. I need all the help I can get. We need 10 ranches to join the association before I can apply to AOBA for certification, so we all need to be talking to our fellow ranchers about joining.

I look forward to all of your replies. And thank you for all of your support.

Hey Steven,

It's great to see you here. I am developing the site now. I am hoping to have it ready to go online by October 1.

Does West Texas Alpaca Association have an actual website outside of this group on Lama Journal? If so, I think it would be a good idea to post that link on this page and vise versa. This would help the popularity of the group on Lama Journal and the exposure of their website.

Thanks Mike, just add any topics you want to discuss here. Like interest in a West Texas Show? I really think if we all put our vast knowledge together we can have a really great Association with a lot to offer the Alpaca Industry.
