Sopris packs, saddles and tack have been my choice and I've been very happy with the workmanship and excellent customer service. I highly recommend the gear and wish they would start producing harnesses and sled gear for my dog team:)

I started packing with llamas and ran in the Fairplay Llama Race in 982. . I used many different pack systems( Colorado Pivot Pack, Rawlide West, Tyler Pack, Mt Shasta) for my llamas to pack out elk. I purchased my first Sopris system in 1984 and have not looked back. For the comfort of the llama the Sporis Saddle is the best in market because it fits the differnet body types on animals so well. For a soft pack I would say the Mt Shasta was the best in its time which goes by a differnt name today. All I can say in the Showring or the Trail my llamas wear the best which Sopris Equipment.

Perhaps it's no surprise, but I've always used the Sopris packs. A lot of commercial packers use them too, including Bill Redwood.

I also use and distribute Flaming Star Pack systems. They are the best on the market for showing, training and packing! Niki

Although Ive packed with goats for years and shown llamas for about 9 years, We havent done much packing with them. Here in Wyoming where I work on HighLine Trail Llamas, a llama outfitter. The saddles are hand made and speicifally fitted to each llama, With have about 60 packers, thats a lot of saddles. The panniers are made by one of the llama companies, but Im not sure which one. We havent made it to the trails or the mountains yet, because of birthing season and the weather, but hopefully in a couple of weeks we can get out!

No discussions yet?

How about which pack system is the best.

I like Flaming Star and it seems my packers do to.
