Lama Journal Alpaca Llama Social Network

.

Hi, all! This summer my husband and I went to Colorado for a family pack trip; living in the NYC area means we don't have any llamas, and so we had to borrow some for the trip. When I got home, I started thinking about other people who don't have llamas but who enjoy backpacking and might enjoy llama packing, if they only knew where to borrow a few llamas.
And then it occurred to me that people lease out their llamas for all sorts of reasons, both with and without handlers: as caddies on golf courses, as therapy animals, as the star attraction of Napoleon Dynamite-themed birthday parties, for example. So I decided to build an online directory of llama rental and leasing businesses so that people who don't have llamas can use llamas. The site is Rent-A-Llama.com.
Right now I'm simply building the listing--so if you rent out your animals, whether it be for a parade or for hiking, please fill out the form on the homepage. And if you have ever been interested in renting or leasing, drop me a line and let me know what you'd like to see from a website like this. It is a project in it's early stages, but it was inspired, in part, by Steven's Lama Journal and other projects. I'd love to hear your thoughts!
