"Peruvian Keno" has passed away. April 2009, 14 years old.

First discovered in the remote Peruvian Highlands, Keno was successfully imported into the United States and has made his mark on the Suri Llama Industry. An own son of the equally famous Peruvian Maximo, Keno has produced some of the most colorful, exotic, and striking "True Suris" in this country and Canada.

Sadly, Peruvian Keno has passed away at the farm of Bert Danner in Washington from complications of old age.

His legacy will live on "forever" as some of the most sought after Suri genetics in the industry. For pictures of Keno and some of his offspring, be sure to check our web site at "http://www.twinlakesllamas.com". We do still have a few Keno son's left here on the farm.

Karen,
Thank you for letting us know. We have always been impressed with llamas out of the Keno lines. He always passed on the color genetics down his line. We meant to attend the sale and get something out of his line since we don't have any, but were unable to get there. Thanks again for the information and he will be missed.

Karen --

So sorry to hear of Keno's passing. My very first suri llama is a beautiful daughter of Keno and she a wonderful example of the breed and one of our family's favorite camelids on the farm. Without a doubt, his heritage will live on through his splendid offspring.

Sorry to read of this - I have a grandson via New Phaze - Chandan.

I am the one that bought Peruvian Killian (Keela) at your sale last year. She has done a st fair, a nursing home and 4 days at the Peddler's Fest in Butler OH (w/4H kids and leader) and accompanied by juvie male or juvie alpaca boy. She is a wonderful PR girl. I will breed her to a suri in the fall if her wt is over 200 - else we wait longer.

Meg,
You did get a good one with Killian. Her mother Kantilla is amazing as I'm sure you know. Kantilla and all of her offspring are not only beautiful, but sweet and reasonable as well. That is always a plus. I'm glad you enjoy her and I'm sure she'll have beautiful babies for you. Make sure you send me pics.

Thanks, Karen

Sorry to hear about Keno. He has left quite a legacy. It is always so sad when an amazing producer, especially one that helped usher in a new era in llamas, passes. My sympathy.

Bless your pea-pickin' heart. Thank you. He truly was something. He left his mark that's for sure. There will be "no more" Keno kids. We must appreciate what we have.
